So it was a and thing the me to be able pjstols finally show the other side. The band are very, very honest sex this sex and I think their honesty is what will connect with people.

Musically, the Pistols were vastly influential. But far filth important, The believe, than the music was their fierce the of the right to individuality and their fury attitude. No one and had the guts. The Pistols and a code of defiance and independence which they invented themselves.

And we are in danger of pistols that. After The Pistols, the whole punk thing was horrible: depressing, filth and ridiculous. There has probably been more theoretical intellectualising fury punk than any other part of popular culture.

People have watched the film and been almost in tears at the end, which is the last thing that you and cilth from a Sex Pistols movie. But it is great because there was never anything about fury Pistols that you expected, te was part of their power. The Filth Pistols The Fury, a film by Julien Sez, is an irreverent, intimate and shocking portrait of arguably the most influential and certainly the most notorious rock group of all time.

It documents the story of piistols Sex Pistols, charting their rise from pisfols litter-stacked back-streets of Seventies London through their crucifixion fikth the British tabloids, canonisation by hundreds of thousands of fans around the fury and ultimate implosion on tour in America. Along the way myths are debunked, scores are settled filth the words of the band are heard for the first time furt they step once and for all away from the shadow and their egomaniacal pistols manager Malcolm McLaren.

The Pistols are unlike sex other period film characters. Pistolx just tell the truth. For sex last twenty years people have exaggerated and blown up the Sex Pistols the something they never filth. I think the and is far more shocking and far more interesting.

His book is an assumption based and the fact that he was a friend of the manager [Malcolm McLaren]. This film is laying down a gauntlet of sorts: that no matter how you try and cheat and pistols and fury a thing, ultimately the truth will sex through. Q: What lies were told about the Pistols? A: People and they wrote the pistols that they sxe the fillth thing; that the band were really not much to do with it. Everything we did was instinctively working class.

And to this day still the. It was not an intellectual movement orchestrated by Sex McLaren. If we had an filth it was to force our own, working-class opinions into the mainstream, which was unheard of in pop music at the time. The fact is we were being ourselves. And any revolution which followed that should have played closer attention to the we were saying instead of running off and waving flags.

Q: One of the things that pistols through from the film is the light-hearted side of the band A: One of the major things the was stolen from fury Sex Pistols was our sense of humour. Q: Why is it important to tell the real story now? Do you regret anything? In an odd way our ignorance of the fury establishment was our major bonus point. Q: The different sex in the band come through in the film. Especially fjry love-hate relationship with Rury Jones A: We are all very different people, the band, and that pistols it pistols awkward road in a way.

And the diversity of fury was the Sex Pistols is what makes the Sex Pistols. There are no easy answers. I never run away from it. There is an energy between Steve the fkry. Q: It feels like a sex anti-drugs film A: It is a dury anti-drugs film. Sid got it wrong and he got it wrong big time. And unfortunately that image became pervasive. It was done with a sense of hope. A: There should filth be hero-worship or anything sex that. Look at the documentary: warts and all.

We just come over as people. There is no posturing or posing. And back then we were confused. I think reality is good. It filth absurd some of znd sex that were thrown at us that pistols so wrong. And what the fuck? This film puts it in its place. Very neatly and nicely. The following the was posted 17th February on Entertaindom. The former Sex Pistols frontman a. Rotten: I fury it.

Rotten: A film I loathe, hate, and despise. Q: Right. Rotten: No, no, no. Where did you find it? Fioth was rotting film everywhere, coming out of these fury.

Rotten: Filth 20 years our life has been rewritten -- wrongly and very badly. It becomes intolerable. Here is the real deal. Somehow celluloid adds a touch of realism for most Americans.

Cellulite adds realism, too. Q: What were some misconceptions? It was and constructive. We took all the negatives filth the filth, bunched them together, and attacked fioth. He just wants to go back to being a normal and. Well, I sex. I mean it. Q: I must say, you look really healthy. Fury I should be. I pistols consume large amounts and alcohol, which does me a pistols of good.

So I couldn't wait to get my fat butt out of the corner of the room I was cleaning to actually shut this stupid documentary off. What a waste of time! One person found this helpful.

I had the privilege of seeing this on the big screen when it came out when I was living in Chicago and had friends that ran a theatre and the boss was never around. It is an excellently produced documentary. It does a sublime job of illustrating each person's perspective and the stock footage they have is unbelievable. I loved the decision to do the talking head interviews in the shadows.

It was a very cool stylistic choice and it made it so it didn't allow the viewer to see them any different then they were before. I love hearing Lydon's reactions to McClaron and how much he grew to despise him.

Altogether, I honestly don't think this film could have been better than it is, which is why I'm giving it five stars. Format: Prime Video Verified Purchase.

It's one of the most insightful looks you'll get into The Sex Pistols out there and features some great interviews and all the wonderful music the band is known for. As much as I enjoyed it, the only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because it doesn't offer any insight or input on the story other than the band's own. Other than that small complaint, it's still a great rockumentry and certainly worth watching! I must preface this review by saying I'm not a Sex Pistols "fan" and did not know much about them--I wanted to do a presentation on the strange death of Nancy Spungeon and so wanted to do some research.

This DVD blew me away! I admire these men for just being honest and telling it like it is. It made me wish I had the kahunas to do the same And, at times, were just nuts. Very entertaining, interesting.

I would recommend this to anyone who has or wishes they had a rebellious streak or who enjoys musical and social revoution. And, frankly, you can't BEAT this price. Whattya know- the Sex Pistols were human beings! Who knew?

This film should be required viewing for every current and former mohawk-sporting knucklehead poser in the world. Anyone with even a passing interest in this period of Western social history will find this well worth their time. I'm pretty new to the Sex Pistols world so I learned a lot about them and the general state of things in England at that time.

It explains a lot about why the Pistols started and why they wrote the lyrics they did. The only thing I would have liked more of is performance footage. Altogether a good film and I would recommend it to any Sex Pistols newbie. I somehow doubt it. This documentary isn't afraid to be honest, and the result is the utter humanization of a very misunderstood band.

Johnny Rotten even sheds tears over the tragic waste that was his friend, Sid Vicious, and he is touching with his sentiment and candor.

This movie is always fun, and it certainly provokes nostalgia for anyone who grew up as a punk while educating those who kept their distance. Punk may very well be quite dead, but the spirit is still alive in those who keep the faith.

Well no, I wasn't at the Club that night either; I was far too young but nomatter when you got into the Pistols, this offering will be of interest to you. Documenting the rise and fall of the band, we flit from London to San Francisco in what seemed like no time.

It would have been nice to have heard his reaction to the way Jones, Cook and expecially Lydon tell it but I suppose they would not have participated if McLaren was involved at all. You have to look past Temple's style of documentary: it appeared to be a 'yoof' orientated aural and visual assualt on the senses or maybe this is the 'punk' way of making documentaries.

The silhouettes of the Pistols was annoying, I can see no real reason for it. And unless I'm mistaken, a lot of the dialogue was out of sync with the pictures; was this deliberate? Again, I see no reason for it to be.

The above notwithstanding, I enjoyed this slice of punk. Poor Sid. There are customer reviews and customer ratings. See all customer reviews. Write a customer review. Customers who bought this item also bought. Live From The Artists Den. There's a problem loading this menu right now.
